In June of 2004, we began hands-on computer classes for people of all ages in this community, taking turns on 4 refurbished computers from 9am to 2pm every day. The computers eventually broke down and the program stopped…
We are now we are back with a vengeance with a beautiful Computer Center. Equipped with 8 internet-ready computers, it helps students do school assignments and lessen their expenses in computer rentals and printing outside. It welcomes youth from the community learn how to use a variety of office applications and enhance their computer skills. It draws them away from the bad influence of the compound’s Internet shops crowded with boys playing violent games on computers which do not even have office applications installed.
Ours is a calm, well-lit, well ventilated place for our youth to help each other with their homework and for volunteers from reputed universities to hang out with them and engage in meaningful conversations. A dream come true to many!
It is managed by the youth leaders themselves who rotate leadership monthly.
